Design and Conquer

Great learning is created by design, it doesn’t just happen.

Learning doesn’t take place just because information has been delivered. In all education sessions, from pre-school through to post graduate and corporate, learning should be engaging, memorable and accessible.

Thoughtfully designed resources that contain meaningful and relevant visuals, are consistent in layout and use clear signposting support comprehension and retention of information. Learning materials that are clattered, contain too many visuals, are inconsistent and lack white space overwhelm learners, increasing cognitive load and decreasing motivation.

Carefully crafter learning experiences, whether guided or autonomous, are a demonstration of quality. A learner is more likely to engage with a resource that looks professional, is well structured and easy to navigate. Quality indicates to a learner that this resource is with investing their time in.

Blending rigorous learning design (applying the principles of pedagogy, andragogy and heutagogy) and graphic design (emphasis, balance, alignment, contrast, repetition, proportion, movement and white space) creates a user experience that is intuitive and enjoyable.
